

3.Don't leave your computer or tv on standby as this can waste a lot of electricity over time.
4.When you make a cup of tea make sure that you don't over fill the kettle as it takes more energy to reach boiling point.
5.If you have any dripping taps get them fixed as soon as possible. The noise of a dripping tap can be annoying, but the amount of water wasted could be significant if it isn't fixed. This is even more urgent if you have a water meter as you could be losing money.
6.Draw your curtains at dusk. This could save a lot of heat from escaping and help to keep the house warm. .Plus make sure that the radiators aren't covered by furniture or anything that may be propped against it. You could be losing a lot of heat and wasting energy.
7.Never put warm food inside the fridge as it will use more energy to cool it down again.
8.Try not to use the tumble dryer unless really necessary. It's much more environmentally friendly to air your clothes outside on a washing line, and they will smell fresher. However bad weather doesn't always make this possible. Buy a fold away airer and place it in a warm room such as the kitchen.
Old fashioned airers on a pulley meant that you could air your clothes very efficiently in the kitchen. Warm air rises and so when the oven was on your washing would dry very quickly.
